This page explains, in plain language, what personal information is collected when you use this blog, on what basis, for what purposes, and what your rights are, including under Québec's Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector).
This policy is a reasonable-efforts statement from a small Canadian blog. It is not legal advice.
1. Who we are and who is responsible
This blog is operated by KOLLAZ ("we"), an Ottawa, Ontario–based publisher of personal-finance articles and the Kollaz Etsy shop.
Person responsible for the protection of personal information (Law 25, s. 3.1): Valentin Iosif Email: privacy@kollaztoolz.com
For any question about your personal information, write to the address above.
2. What we collect, and on what basis
2.1 Analytics (Google Analytics 4), only with your consent
If you accept "Analytics" cookies in the consent banner, Google Analytics 4 collects pseudonymous technical data: pages viewed, IP address (truncated by Google), approximate city, device type and browser. Purpose: understanding which articles readers find useful and improving the blog.
If you refuse or make no choice, Google Analytics is simply not loaded. We never see your name or email address in these statistics.
2.2 Shop click measurement, only with your consent
If you accept, an anonymous counter records clicks to etsy.com (shop and product pages) to measure reader interest in our tools. No identifying data.
2.3 Necessary cookies (Blogger and Google)
The Blogger platform sets its own technical cookies, essential for site security and operation. They require no consent and are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2.4 Consent cookie
Our consent-management tool stores your choice (accept, refuse, or customize) in a technical cookie so you aren't asked on every visit. This cookie is the proof of your consent and is kept for 12 months.
2.5 Newsletter (planned launch)
The signup form will ask for your email address (and optional first name) to send the requested free resource, a short welcome sequence, and occasional emails. Legal basis: your express opt-in, the box will be ticked by you, never pre-ticked. Every email carries an immediate unsubscribe link.
2.6 Etsy purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Etsy, under its own privacy policy. We receive from Etsy only what's needed to fulfill the order (Etsy username, transaction email). We never see your payment details.
3. Cookies, the detail
Manage your choices at any time via the "Cookie settings" banner (persistent icon, bottom-left of the site):
| Category | Examples | Consent required |
|---|---|---|
| Necessary | Blogger/Google cookies (security, operation), consent-choice cookie | No, essential |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 (_ga, _ga_*) | Yes, off by default |
| Marketing | None at this time | Yes, off by default |
Withdrawing consent: reopen settings via the persistent icon, withdrawal takes effect immediately for subsequent visits.
4. Who else sees your information
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Our service providers, each under their own policy:
- Google (Blogger hosting; Google Analytics 4 if you consent), policies.google.com/privacy. Transfer outside Québec: Google Analytics data is processed and stored on servers in the United States.

5. Retention
- Google Analytics data: 14 months, then auto-deleted (Google signals off).
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, then deleted.
- Consent cookie: 12 months.
Beyond these periods, information is deleted or anonymized.
6. Your rights (Law 25)
You may at any time request:
- access to your personal information held by us;
- correction of inaccurate information;
- deletion (right to be forgotten, e.g., removal from the mailing list);

Write to privacy@kollaztoolz.com describing your request. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing information.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca).
